The Garden

A front garden that works day and night

The house is stone and stucco, so the garden answers with soft materials: a green lawn, a pale paved patio under the oak and a low iron fence on stone pillars. After sunset the pillar lights, path lights and tree lighting turn the whole frontage into a stage for the house.

Chapter 1 · The Front Garden

A fenced lawn with a patio of its own

A black iron fence on stone pillars holds the lawn at the street edge. The wall lanterns, the planted borders and a travertine entry walk lead the eye to the door, and a small paved patio on the left gives the front yard somewhere to sit.

Chapter 2 · The Lawn and Patio

Seating tucked under the tree

The patio curves into the lawn rather than cutting across it, so the chairs sit in a soft pocket beside the tree. Lights tucked into the planting wash the stone wall, and the same warm tone runs along the roofline.

Chapter 3 · After Dark

Lighting that frames the house

Pillar caps, path lights and tree lighting each add a small glow at a different height. Together with the wall lanterns they outline the fence, the walk and the entry, so the front garden reads clearly from the street.
